The basis for a theory to be considered correct is to continue to pass ever more stringent experimental tests
String theory has made exactly zero testable/falsifiable predictions to-date. This after 29 years of effort which is unprecedented in the field
String theory may be a mathmatical beauty, but it is not a theory of physics
